What do we do?

Information Communication - Jason Rhodes was set up in 2006 with the aim to help people with learning disabilities to be truly involved in making their own decisions.  By assisting people in understanding the things that affect them we enable them to have a more active role in the things that affect them in their daily lives.  We support and promote positive input from people with learning disabilities in supporting one another and making a positive contribution to society.

The main ways in which we provide assistance are with training sessions, workshops and conferences, enabling people to not only learn but also meet people with similar lives and provide a network of support for each individual. Click here to see more details of our workshops and training days.

Each year we organise a conference in Blackpool for the North West Regional Forum providing training sessions, talks and the chance to meet with people from all over the region.  The next one is in February 2012 and will be held at the Imperial Hotel.  Click here to go to the conference page.

We also provide document conversion into Easy Read format to assist people with reading and understanding all manner of information.  We can provide training and guidance in implementing this method of information communication as well as providing a simple conversion service.  Click here to learn more.

By assisting the wider community of people with learning difficulties to understand their environment and play a positive role in decision making we facilitate their personal development.
